Ominous leaden clouds sink low in the sky overhead.
As shadows fade the gloomy day increases uncertainties.
I don a sullen expression as morose feelings engulf me.
The ambience that surrounds me is most depressing.
This empty dullness I feel renders me deeply dispirited.

I dislike free verse so much, but it was required for the contest in only 5 lines. My poem after it is the same poem in full with rhyme, I think its so much better,, Its called what a difference a rhyme makes. Thanks for your encouraging comment. Best wishes, Wen
