Greet the Day
I long to greet the day
beside you,
curled into the hollow of
your spine;
as sunlight tickles claws
into the curtains,
smile and beg the gods to
make you mine.
Breathe the sullen perfume
of our love,
haunting from the spider webs
of night;
freeze each precious moment in
my heart,
remember, hold you dear and
hold you tight.
