Greenland

GREENLAND

Land of white purity and grace.

Ice, sea, snow, and you brace

Yourself as the wind cuts your face.

Whales break the surface

And icebergs in their slow race chase

Each other from the island’s south face

In this barren arctic place.

My brother was stationed in Thule, Greenland while serving in the Air Force....so I have heard many many stories about his time spent there....he loved it, in spite of the chill and wind...especially the nice people who lived there! Great poem!

Gosh, it sounds so beautiful there, Syd. If I could only see this first-hand -- the whales, the icebergs, the white purity and grace. Sounds like heaven. Beautiful, inspiring poem, dear. Love, Carolyn
