Greener Pastures

People think the other side of the pasture is greener For some it may be true For others, there is no other side; they are too afraid to go for it And end up staying put, brewing in the mix of their forfeit Some continue to look for that greener meadow And realize when they get there, that brown patches are everywhere Some can live with those uneven patches, ignore them, walk over them And just live in those boundaries they have created While some will not accept it and find ways to make it better Turning those brown patches into their own color Maybe not green but surely a shade that makes them dream From a distance, the green pasture is what it is supposed to be So we realize there is no greener pasture The greener part that we all seek is really in us all We were so busy thinking about its geography But all along it was hidden, somewhere deep in our anatomy.
