GREED AND FEAR

The mind,
A strange and shadowed place
Harboring forces
That move in directions
Quite opposite—one outward
The other inward. Greed
And Fear. One seeks fame
Bruting every name, coveting all.
The other—leaps with caution
One step at a time. Leap forth
Then pause. Breathe.

So strange these two are
Yet they guide us far
Breaking barriers
Opening doors
Righting flaws.
Greed and Fear.
