Gray Spots
I see the world in color
cats and dogs see
in black and white
I wonder if their range
can detect the gray spots
that exist in my heart
I long for someone
each day I wake up
reaching out for them
I think I'm addicted
to feeling loved
needed
he caresses me
I assume it's a prize
whenever he kisses my lips
I feel I must compromise myself
He might not love me
If I don't give him what I'm expected to
He might not hug me
If he only knew all I wanted
was someone who
could make these gray spots
go away for good.
