Gratitude

Thanksgiving day is coming I am making a pledge to be grateful Small favors and large joys come and go I am thankful for today for tomorrow is not a promise ~~~my health and family... ~~~love, kindness and good friends ~~~seasons of warm and cold ~~~fall leaves and summer's ocean trips ~~~my home and worldly possessions ~~~sweet pets, tomatoes and brocoli ~~~passionate kisses, smoldering glances ~~~trust and good perception ~~~conscience and the holy spirit ~~~Salvation and eternal life ~~~my family has gotten surgery approval as needed ~~~dog hairs on the couch ~~~stinky cat food cans in the trash mostly I am glad to have a noisy bird who keeps me company.

Not real happy about the stinky cat food cans but I am thankful for the two rat killing cats that stay on the roof..I don't care for the dog hairs on the couch, in the truck and everywhere but I am thankful for that entertaining dog that lives here and the one that visits me from time to time..Mom

Hi, you list many things we all have to be grateful for. As a pet lover the last two lines of your poem made me smile. I love dogs and cats. Sadly, we have no room for a noisy bird. Thanks for your comment. Jancarl

Doris, you list some things for which we can be truly grateful as well as some that made me laugh! I'm wondering what kind of bird you have and how that cat likes having him around. Witty and wonderful poem! Love, Carolyn

You echo my thoughts and my prayer Doris of thanks to the Giver of life who gives it it's sweetness .And the Giver of love in your heart and mine and that of the world.I love this,it's simplicity, and yet meaningful message. We tend to forget about the little things that make life a pleasure yet we would feel the emptiness if they were no longer there.I love this.Reading it was one one of the simple enjoyments given to me today.Thank you and I adore birds too,esp the noisy ones.love June.(S)
