Granny Ganja

Grandma’s aches affected her sleep;
She often made the help weep.
But at least she was regal -
Until pot was made legal.

She ditched Big Pharma
And moved to California
Now she takes pot
For every ailment she’s got

Indica for sciatica
CBD oil for inner turmoil
On sativa she’s a diva;
says it helps her creativity –
now she’s writing poetry

Free of arthritis and bursitis
Her new mood delights us
Always totally mellow
No longer acid to any fellow

She’ll take a toke
From any bloke
And always wants to munch -
All day long it’s brunch

Her perm’s turned to dreads
Only weed in her flowerbeds
Gone are her pearls and wool suits
- Pasta Prego is in cahoots

When she walks through their door
The waiters give a roar
"Mangia mangia Granny Ganja!"
Still – she’s much nicer than before

I have two friends who are retired and turning to pot in a big way. This made me smile because they both do seem nicer.

Glad to hear they're nicer Caren! My girls noticed it when they were back in Cali for a visit - people on the streets seem less aggravated than before.

Hi Sharon Wow never seen a poem with so many allusions to the weed, I think this one will be very popular on the soup, you’d be surprised how many grandmas and grandpas are turning to the stuff over here in Ireland, where alas it’s still illegal great flow and upbeat tempo to your poem, in contrast to mine. Cheers David

Great that you were at that concert. I left the auld sod right when school ended the summer before - just as the country was coming into its own.
