Grandfather's Gift There is an angel, on a coin, in my pocket. My grandfather gave her to me. It is a token of affection. It is a gift of his love. It tells me, everything I need to know, about life, about my life, and my place within it. It tells me I am wanted, and loved, as only a grandfather can do. That I am protected by his prayers, even when he is not with me. And if I should lose the tiny coin, it will not matter, as I have long since learned, that the value behind the metal, is stronger than the steel it was made from. Thank you, grandpa, for the gift, the very small coin that gave my soul, a lift.

Ann, I love this tribute to your grandfather. I think it such a good thing to leave poems behind which tell about our relationships with our parents and grandparents. This is a fine one.
