How fitting that a full moon would be the setting of my husband’s homecoming.

GRANDFATHER MOON

grandfather moon proud
glorious rounded shoulders
sing-along brightness 
whistles grandly through
the leafless oaks

reunited, a couple kisses
under the voracious hug
of lunar light, two crescents
joined together as one
