Granddaughters

GRANDDAUGHTERS

I am boxing your Disney and Elmo tapes
Except the priceless memories
I will store in my heart forever.
You, my sweethearts
Have the power to command me
When you were two and three:
Play “Mulan” and “Elmo” next in line.
Now, you are seven and nine
Have discovered computers:
Web sites, I-pod, wi-fi, DS games, u-tubes
High tech gadgets, etc.
I am grateful, you
Still have time, climb-up
In bed with me
An exclusive date on Friday nights
Recite your crafty, innocent poems
Gentle songs that lullaby.
