You showed me how to respect my surroundings and the world I live in, from the heavens above to the oceans below. looking into your eyes words are no longer needed to describe the way I am feeling inside. Even though we never got the chance to say goodbye I know how proud you were of me all my life. All the memories I hold in my heart of you will never fade for they were our life together every day. All the days I would trip and fall you would pick me up and brush me off. All the nights when things would go wrong you were waiting there for me with a hug and shoulder to cry on. You taught me to be strong and to believe in myself. Now that you are gone and time has marched on the pain of your loss is still so strong. I know that we will be together one day again fishing streams like we once did.

How nice to have such loving memories of a grandpa. Both of mine died long before I was born. Mom lost hers at the age of six. My dad was much older than most fathers when his children came so I had a daddy and a grandpa in him. I love your poem. Love, Joyce
