"To bear defeat with dignity, to accept criticism with poise, to receive honors with humility- these are the marks . . . of graciousness."
William Arthur Ward, Writer, 1921-1994

I was not born a girl pleasant and kind,
though, I was taught to be polite;
but over the years manners and grace twined.
I was not born a girl pleasant and kind,
but these days I am graciousness inclined;
oh yes- I have now found insight.
I was not born a girl pleasant and kind,
though, I was taught to be polite.
