-Gracefully

I am trying to grow old gracefully

Doing my best

Knowing both the pros and cons

Cons, that certainly put me to the test

I try to focus on the positives

Appreciate the gift and beauty of age

Though the ‘con’ l struggle with the most

The aches and pains that take centre stage!

Yep…When I was praying this morning, I thought of ‘all’ my ills but joyfully I am human and in the grace of God! Guess we made it, Deb, to experience old life..not all are given this! Blessings!

I Deb, i think most men don't mind too much as they grow older whether its' graceful or not, but women is a different ballgame, we all differ, except however, when it comes to pain, then we all feel this horrid con that puts us to the test. MY CLEVER POETESS, ALWAYS SPOT ON. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Words well spoken, Lady Deb. All of us can certainly relate. But if not the younger folks - they will in a few more years. “Time is the wisest counselor of all” – Pericles ~ Take good care ~ Terrell

Dear Deb, those damn "cons"! They "put me to the test" too. I delight in knowing I am not alone as your poem so "gracefully" alludes. A wonderful rhyme that makes my day :) In this case, I'm a firm believer in misery loves company haha! Thank you for sharing, my wonderful poet friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Will take your advice Deb....though my old bones groan to remind me that there is not much grace in a bent back and a arthritic shuffle. Cheers my friend...
