Grace

The mystique of the moon shone brightly and far she was deep in thought gazing longingly at the stars. He told her he cared that she was his only one his actions so bold so brazenly raw she cries in earnest to the heavens above. She gave him her love they made solemn vows to always be truthful to be present here and now. The betrayal she felt stung like hard bullets of rain the cold stark image as vivid as a blood red stain. How could he lay with forsaking their bond with her friend her confidante whom she had trusted for so long. So now in the moonlight gently stroking her belly she ponders her future and the new lives developing. She smiles and feels a small nudge from within a loving reminder she is carrying their twins. It is at this moment under the mystique of the moon she knows in her heart exactly what she must do. To forgive and love wholly she decides is her fate for who on this earth could not use a little grace. reworked 08-09-2016

A marvelous display of emotions as one is led upon a trail of magic moments lost and gained, each encased as a golden nugget or a dagger within the authors heart. Emile.

Lynn, you are very wise to have the woman in this poem decide on the path of love and forgiveness. What a bittersweet poem.

Such a sad situation, Lynn. It's not just the cheating part, but also the fact that she was pregnant! To forgive is commendable, though there is no guarantee that he will be ending his wayward life! Best regards ~ paul

Hi Lynn, an emotional write from beginnng to end. It is so sad when you give everything and then when the joy should be complete and then infedility steps in. You have really told this story well. In the end positivity. What matters is the child she carries. The bond between child and mother begins in the womb. Excellent write Lynn. Hugs....Mike. XX. This is a definite seven.

A heartbreaking story with a hope of redemption. I have witnessed God transform a man like this into a loving husband and father. With God all things are truly possible.

Hi Lynn, I must say your title alone caught my attention. However, I didn't know I was going to read such a heartbreaking story.Infidelity is the ultimate betrayal, its even worse if it's with a best friend. At the end the day those twins is the most important thing. I agree,we all need grace but to what extent? Will the one who committed adultery do it again? Good write from start to finish . A without a doubt seven:-) Alexis

Infidelity when someone is pregnant isn't that uncommon ... the ultimate betrayal between a partner and a 'best' friend where trust needs to be regained but mistakes do happen and I have to agree with Tim and Daniel's comments... if this hurdle can be overcome then it is what is best for the children:-) hugs jan xx7

As sad as it may sound, it is a hard lesson to learn but sometimes the people we love make mistakes. It only becomes a problem when they take advantage of your goodness. Great write, I've been there!
