Gown

My mother’s wedding gown
in my closet, whispers a tale
of love and togetherness!

the gold embroidery
all over, done intricately,
dazzles like a star-studded sky,

picturing the glitter and pomp…
telling me story of that special occasion!

I caress the gown with tender hands,
It hums a song which my mother chose
for her wedding day!

The lustrous silk rustles,
The lace murmurs softly to my touch..
I close my eyes, to listen to the
melody that silky, satiny, subtle-hued dress sing -

a song which crooned in the heart of a
                ravishing bride !

A song that would croon and linger on, so poetic and heartfelt this personification is, how intricately and vividly in such a detail oriented manner you’ve described your mothers wedding gown. I love your use of descriptive language here, the alliterations, and imagery all flow so seamlessly and is so very soul warming. Absolutely stunning , impeccable write. That made me emotional, your love for your mother so strongly felt. Love it, Ink

"A song which crooned in the heart of a ravishing bride" I'm awestruck by the emotive sentiments that you're so beautifully sequinned in the gorgeously knitted tapestry of this piece.. It shimmers as if moon is dancing and swirling.. Feels nostalgic, love this!- Hiya :)

Thank you, Dear Hiya. I am so delighted to find beautiful comments from you - you are a talented poetess! Wedding dresses are invaluable, especially when it is a gift from our mother. The lustrous silk, intricate embroidery, and of course precious memories - all make it a present to be cherished for ever! Love and hugs ~ Mala

Thanks, Darlene. Yes, I do. Although she wore red with gold embroidery - which is in our culture.
