Government Shutdown

I am sorry, but there is outright denial, About violation of law and national security Regarding illegals crossing our border! I have been to Central America They are not just escaping crime there They are responsible for bringing children miles For other reasons and violating laws to get what they want! I have done a lot of research in the past to do with this There were clear, direct reports then, from border agents It is not propaganda that criminals have illegally crossed, The border into our country It is not propaganda that gang members have illegally crossed, The border into our country Nor is it a lie that diseases were spread to Americans, After transports from detention centers, that killed American children! Also, the strong drugs being brought by illegals, Have contributed to the drug crisis here! We already have crime out of control here happening And the issue of over-populated prisons To ignore these things, is ignoring the law and safety of Americans! To refuse to budge regarding National Security With this invasion of thousands of illegals, is harming our country! It is contributing to the Government shutdown every day! I am not here writing this as a Trump supporter, because I wasn’t I am writing as an American and I can clearly see what is happening, From the backlash of prior policies and facts getting twisted now! This is a serious issue that requires attention and compromise! Americans Unite! God Bless America! Heidi Sands 1/17/19. *In addition, today 1/19/19, President Trump stated the true facts regarding the security risks from our border. He offered a reasonable solution to deal with all this. If it is rejected, continuing this Government shutdown, that will be very harmful to our country. *Thank you to all those who came to our country through the correct legal process. I am sorry others do not.

Some facts: 266,000 criminals Ice apprehended in the last 2 years More than 800,000 cases wait to be decided on in the courts 60,000 Apprehensions in the last month alone. And people discount this invasion? Cartels, MS13 gangs come across, there is human trafficking with women bound and gagged, there are health issues and there are massive amounts of drugs coming across our southern border. Americans have a choice whether to support all this or not.

One other major issue worth addressing. There are Americans who have medical crisis and either can't get assistance OR have to provide proof of things in piles of paperwork going back for years! This is a true fact. Then, not only do illegals violate law and come here, but get free healthcare paid by Americans and they don't have to prove anything regarding their history! Former Presidential candidate Ron Paul is right: Take away the free benefits, and they won't come.

I might also add the shutdown is based on the wall and the wall is based on race and nationality, and walls don't work by the way, not to mention there is better technologies, Trump runs on creating fear and division, supporting that, well....... I prefer securing borders and also being inclusive and compassionate. These are not mutually exclusive concepts.

If not then I wait for a poem against all the white illegals in the USA, I also await a poem for banning guns, over 30,000 Americans a year are killed by guns a year by fellow Americans. I never singled out illegals to any particular nationality. What I said, is ...there is a law and those who have gone through the proper process to get here did it right. Those who bypass that law and illegally enter have violated the law. No matter where they have come from.

Again...there are those who went through the proper process to come here who have sadly had to watch the many who bypass the process and violate the law, illegally entering the country. Criminals are being protected.

There are clearly people coming here for free benefits and I suppose want to feed their family too (as you say ) Just as Americans want to. You are still ignoring the drug trafficking that has caused crisis in our country and I see them dying in NH from high potent drugs, the criminals who's intensions are not to feed any family , but come here and bring the drugs, or harm children, or rape women , etc. It is not one single issue Arthur. Bottom Line is: The law is the law. Go through the proper legal process to come here, otherwise it is a violation of the law.

Under US and international law, people have the right to seek asylum in another country. So the 150 or so Central Americans who traveled north through Mexico in a migrant caravan are perfectly within their rights in waiting to do so at the southern US border.( your laws and international law) and not once did I say let in criminals, nor not have borders, so stop putting words in my mouth.

Heidi, I agree with everything you said and I am sorry I wasn't around to help defend you when you posted this. Most of your comments below are from people who drink the kool aid of the media. They don't take the time to look and see exactly what is happening, they rely on others to feed their thoughts and follow like lemmings. Let's hope we all don't go over the edge with them. Arthur, I live in south Texas. I see this stuff first hand, I don't rely on CNN for my news on this situation. It is completely out of control down here and you and everyone else who live far from the border have no idea what you are talking about. And what do you do, troll these things? Typical liberal. Eve why oh why aren't you holding Pelosi responsible for her part in this shutdown. ?? She will not budge whatsoever and wants her way, as you know. Even before the speech today, she heard about it and was already quick to say she is against it. Trump stated true facts for why he thinks is needed to be done and also compromised with a plan to work on. This shutdown is not all on him at all.

Hi Heidi, this is a well written piece and I can read that it does come to your heart. Not being from America, and not living in America, I know little of your problems there. This write helps me to get a look into the situation. It has given me a bigger look into things than the news, they only give you certain facts. A Government Shutdown is no good for anyone.
