Gorgeous Day For Steelhead Trout

The sun peeks out in a shy way,
Unsure whether the day is to be cool or warm
Pink clouds parade their truth in a dark sky
Appearing fiery as a well stoked campfire

The dock is silent; not a peep.
Fish slumber in cold waters, glad for the silence
My feet seem incredibly loud as I walk the dock
I hear a loud splash and I smile.

A gorgeous day for steelhead trout
They are here for the taking,
I feel we have a communion
My line enters the water smoothly, and I wait.
