Take this note to her, my dove
It contains all my love
Be careful, hold it very tight
Drop it off to her tonight
Outside her window knock until
She hears you out there by the sill
And when she comes to see who's there
Tell her you've a word to share
Make her bend her ear real close
Then ask her who might she suppose
Sent you to her quite like this
If she says me give her a kiss
And if she doesn't say 'twas me
Present the note for her to see
Then before she's anything to say
Say goodnight then fly away
