Goodnight I Said
I've half a mind with half a brain
Am very kind this will not drain
I'm filled with wonder and filled with doubt
Not torn asunder won’t be put out
I’ve fallen down so far it hurt
All scuffed and brown and torn of shirt
I rose above the deep abyss
Felt like a dove the flight was bliss
Won’t be abusive or make mistakes
This is conclusive no time for breaks
I have been hit and walked away
But have been hit and made them pay
You’ll know my name if I know yours
Not out for fame I’ll do my chores
I’ll work as hard as any man
Will play my card as is the plan
With all the times that I have spent
Chasing the dimes that I have lent
I could be rich if not so broke
It’s like an itch or word I spoke
I am so tired I’ll go to bed
And feel so wired GOODNIGHT I said
