Goodbye, My Love

Tall neon city lights dance on the water as the gentle waves crash onto the harbor. The ship blares its horns and calls for its last passengers to board. Spotlights in the distance wave their arms in the night sky searching for answers — oh, how hard they try! Giddy lovers hold hands while waiting in line at the dock, watching... I painfully stare back. I reach inside my pocket and press my thumb against your ring, our forever that no longer stands a chance. Kristina Lim November 25, 2021 Imus, Cavite, Philippines
