Goodbye July

Goodbye July, it’s been so fun
With your longer days and hot sun
Now we must part ways, it’s time
To welcome in August this summertime

August will be special and sublime
With its long dog days and just in time
And will bring us special summer gifts
As the days shorten and the climate shifts

The summer fairs will soon begin
with many rides, food and games to win
Kids will beg to go there to eat and play
A rite of summer that’s here to stay

Hummingbirds will be out to score
Before leaving again to fuel up more
Beautiful hydrangeas will bloom until fall
It will soon be the end of summer for us all

I'm with you. Even though I love the Fall, I am not ready to roll into the cold weather yet. Nicely-penned goodbye to July, Tania.

I love summer if it is not too hot. Hydrangea flowers in pink and light blue shades are a joy to look at. Beautiful poem.

I could not stir up an idea for the theme and, like you, ended up including other months, actually all months. You stuck to the season and wrote a lovely poem filled with summer imagery, also you stirred a desire in me for bumper cars. I enjoyed and appreciated your poem.

Great summer write-up, but in Malta it's not over yet. August will be even hotter. Let's hope Autumn will be here soon,❤️

Can't believe it's the end of july already, time goes so quickly but we've got August about to enter, it's been one of the best summers we've had in years here in the uk. An uplifting poem Tania. Have a lovely August weekend. 🌞🌹 Tom
