Goodbye and Farewell

Is it pure greed that motivates them
Or could it be that they're insecure
That they are lost without it...
Do they really think anyone cares
about them 'going back to work'

Do they value publicity, fame
adulation and little boys' games
so highly that they're willing
to risk their very lives...

All these filthy-rich sports stars
can disappear tomorrow and I,
a former sports fan fanatic,
would cheer that development

Let them get real for a change
The people in this country are
fighting for our lives. We
don't give a hoot about
professional sports anymore

Goodbye, Labron James!
Goodbye, James Harden!
Goodbye, Tom Brady!
Goodbye, Bryce Harper
Farewell and good riddance!

I expect some are suicidal by now, due to the lack of applause and glowing words of affection from millions who would not recognize them in street clothes without numbers.

All of a sudden they have lost the spotlight and its eating them, this virus has certainly put things into perspective. Family and friends are all that matters. Too much greed in this world. Tom

Bang on, Tom: Way too much greed. Athletes, Entertainers, Politicians --- a pox on all of 'em, I say! :) gw

True words. The sports star in UK earn about 5 million pounds a week and have taken Government furlough claiming they were out of job! Media rules the world and decides who should rule or be rich or poor! I am with you Gershon!

Can you even imagine earning 5 million pounds a week?! And then claiming unemployment compensation! No wonder we could care less about these spoiled brats! Thanks, Krish
