Goodbye 2010

Boy you started off rough
I just knew getting through would be tough

There were more highs than lows
I paid the price for wrongs I chose

Although the road was sometimes bumpy
Something always made me smile when I was grumpy

For a whole year I stood on my own
Focus and drive was my chosen zone

Persevered through it all
Was lifted up each time I’d fall

I made plans and dictated commands
How they came to be… even I don’t fully understand

With each new obstacle or battle I faced
Wisdom and courage I embraced

I’m reminded of those who were by my side
Those who gave me comfort as I cried

Those who gave me inspiration 
When my world was filled with endless frustration

Those who reached out to lend a hand
When my life had severe demands

As this year comes to an end 
I reflect on mistakes and vow to make amends

I’m thankful for the challenges both good and bad
Grateful for the struggles I’ve had

They all define me and make me whole
Push me closer to attaining my goals

This year was better than the last
Next year I’m sure will be a blast!
