Goodbye

Till this day, I think of you.
Endearing thoughts my heart once knew.

 Caught by surprise, you said, " Good Bye."
Leaving me here, to wonder why.

 The heartfelt letters, I sent each night.
Were desperate words, to make things right.

 Your love you said, had somehow died.
To hear these words, so have I.

The heart must endure, though it breaks we may mend it again. I won’t listen to these songs until I go to bed because I know they will make me cry. They are most beautiful. Your poem is poignant and lovely Michael. Congratulations on having it honored for POTD. Blessings xxoo

Your comment left tears in my eyes Connie. We must endure when the unexpected storms rage in and we find ourselves trying to fight the raging seas of heartache and depression. The songs are songs that will touch all your senses. Jesse Winchester I recommend you hear all his music. Fame reached him but not like other famous well know musicians. My favorite songs frome him are I wave bye bye, and Little Glass Of Wine, another great one that will touch your heart is Sham-A-Ling-Dong-Ding it is a funny title but when you hear it I am sure you will loose a few tears. Tennessee Waltz, Don Henley of the Eagles recorded of Jesse's and Jimmy Buffet recorded I wave bye bye from Jesse also. He was a great writer of music. Hey John, yes my friend this one is a sad one, but in the end God's plan worked in my life, and it helped mold who I am today. Life's experiences sometimes humble you, they also correct you along this journey of life. I am grateful John, it was for the better. Our Lord knows what is best for us. Some things aren't meant to be, and it is good to recognize this truth and move on, and not be bitter about it.
