Good Riddance 2022

Good riddance 2022!
I’m glad to see you go,
But maybe from your negatives
Some joy will start to flow.

A brand new year begins with hope;
The slate is fresh and clean,
So happiness may yet become
A part of our routine.

No illnesses, no canceled flights,
No hatred, anger, death – 
Just sweetness and a sense of peace
Imbuing every breath.

Though optimism isn’t
Something natural for me,
Perhaps life will be much improved
In 2023.

Andrea Dietrich January 2, 2023 at 10:40 AM Indeed 2022 was a horrible year for my husband, who is still not recovered from his accident at work, and also for our loss of a precious dog and the community's loss of several wonderful poets. Even the numbers of 2 plus 2 plus 2 are numerologically bad for me. 2023 at least adds up to 7, which is my destiny number, so i am having more hope in THIS new year
