Good Man

I was once a good man, that was pure But the man today I am not so sure In the shadow of guilt, I now stand Though I understand why I changed Time changes us, like a rolling stream And choices once made, you can’t redeem Once soul is stained, the heart is sore Wandering aimlessly, through streets unknown With weary feet and a heart full of stone The path I've lost, the man I was In hopes to find, redemption because I long to feel, the warmth of the love That once filled my heart, like a guiding dove. In fields of gold, where daffodils grow Where the breeze blows soft, and the river flows Maybe there, I will find my way And be the good man, I was yesterday
