Good Friday

The Lord knew what was ahead as He prayed that night
If there was another way instead for He knew of His plight
But Thy Father's Will be done and so it was meant to be
For God sent His only Son to die for the sins of you and me

That night in which he was taken was a very long torturous night
For sleep was forsaken which must of added to our Lord's plight
These guards did not hold back in putting yourself in Our Lords place
Yet in no way did Our Lord lack forever entirely filled with Grace

But they beat him in hate and mocked and spit on Him as well
Thirty nine lashes soon await a wonder only three times He fell
So hot and dry that day as the crowd mocked Him along His journey
But nothing would He do or say for Jesus came here to set us free

And then He was crucified suffering three more hours on the Cross
As for the many times that I have cried I am forever still at a lose
But in His Word I now seek continually comforted by His great Love
God knew we are all too weak in sending His only Son from Above
