Gone, But Still Here

It hurts saying goodbye never making a phone call again, never ranting to you again, never hearing your voice on the other end. You're gone. The world is that bit darker without you. You always had time, always offered encouragement, always listened. Nights spent talking, instigating, deliberating, debating even plotting our next steps. I had you in my future, but now, you’re becoming my past. Just yesterday, we were making plans. Now those plans are something else. I drive my direction takes me to your house. I ride my path leads to your door. I walk and I find myself on your street. You were my compass. For me. For so many. On the other side, can you still point me in the right direction? I know you’re still here.
