Gone But Not Forgotten

Trills tumble through an air long silenced
warbled melodies enlighten the palate
whistles delight but fly off to the thistle
freighted by the frigid speak
amongst the downturn of the day
where blue skies lost their way

Memories of warm caresses
sing along in forgotten dreams
eclipsed heat of destiny
dealt away behind a curtain
draping naked rays of beauty
relegated to shroud in faded grey

Faint knocks of glory soon heard
where smiles seep in secret
gone but not forgotten
under blankets of hope
a moon struck douse of patience
left to awaken another day

This goes so well with the previous poem! I think some poems are more powerful for lack of a better word when read as a "series" if that makes any sense! Another great write!

This speaks to me on so many levels... Direct, indirect. It reads and tells, and underneath it speaks of longing. A 7 and a fave

This was a defining piece that speaks loudly of your talent my friend. Absolutely beautiful though the missing and the longing to revisit the one who created these memories is felt.
