Gone Before Too Long
I hit the street feeling half-past dead
and the clock reads a quarter to three.
I feel the haze and I ask myself
why is everybody looking at me?
I’m coming down, but I’ll get back up,
cause the clock’s ticking so very fast,
I see the lights and I dive on in,
I find a drink and sweet piece of ass.
See I’ve got this fascination,
and it keeps me going strong,
I love the taste and I want more
cause I’ll be gone before too long.
Wake up again, next to some chick,
don’t even really know her name,
just remember she’s quite a wild-cat
and in the bedroom cannot be tamed.
I pound down a full energy shot
because I’ve got a dozen places to be,
I gotta surf in the breaking swells,
gotta throw myself up against the sea.
See I‘ve got this fascination,
something this good can’t be wrong,
I love the race and I’m going to win
since I’ll be gone before too long.
Then it’s the band, we rock the beach,
from San Diego well up to L.A.
We play the covers, play the hits,
doesn’t matter the time or the place.
Finish the set and hear the roar,
my heart races fast with the rush,
I pop a pill and we storm the night,
cause of the world I can’t get enough.
See I’ve got this fascination,
intend to ride it hard and long,
the night was made to be seized,
Cause we’ll be gone before too—
Uhhh...n-no, s-something's wrong—
