Gone

Alas my love I have broken down the vestiges of life
to bones and ashes grey
I’ve known it all my life
I would wed thee to the hot retort
it is such a sight to see
the burning of the retort reminds
me when you burned for me

Alas, the time has come and gone
you have been set free
the timelessness of tender love
again shall never be.
