Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle
by Martin Braun 2/28/2020

Chants from Grottaferrata echoes “Inveni David servum meum” over Byzantium like a golden eagle soaring on majestic wings.

Below lies your ancient heritage shrouded in smoke and ruin while Christ’s gaze across the Mediterranean is diverted from the cross before his ascension.

Come for me with your piercing talons and all your power and glory. Rescue me from Ishmael and Sodomites.

Return our visions of iconic Heavenly peace and beauty on Terra and restore your Eden.

Fill our hearts with your Holy Spirit that lifts us to celestial heights, for we long to know you and be with you.

The golden eagle cries out for His children. Soon, we too will join you.
