Golden Delicious

Who would have thought That a few days before As we clung for our lives Cast on yon sandy shore To see Carolyn there Against the tree Not a care in the world Her mind roaming free Long blond hair Shouldered slight Captured by the sun Golden delight Her long white dress Frayed and torn Visible image From our previous storm Revealing shoulders Back home would be frowned You should see her now Like a sexy gown In her hands she clasps A flower unknown Something we learnt To take back as her own It's reddish pink colour Matches her lips To be so close Makes my heart skip The breaking waves To her beauty they applaud Seabirds in flight In fly by, awed A lapse of time She raises her head Eye to eye The evenings read http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/carolyn.php

I've written a few poems purely down to dedication of people whom have enlightened me with their poetry, male and female. Poets on here have written about me, and all I can do is blush, smile and feel totally honoured, James :)x

I wanted to read this thinking it was about the best apples on Earth! However, I was pleasantly surprised to read a description of a man falling in love with the image of a woman. To me it almost seemed like a wedding seen on the beach. Truly beautiful image and completely captivating! That's the way anyone would love to be described by someone who loved them. Lovely poem!

I can see the Highlander standing on the same shore, strong and tanned from the island sun. Surely this would be a site all seabirds would covet. Thank you for being my partner in poetry and for all of the uplifting verses we have shared. Love you! Carolyn
