Golden Carpet

Golden Carpet
By David J Walker

The first yellow leaves
of the Elms
In the park fall

As the dawning
Of the equinox arrives in a
Morning of a
Golden Carpet

Covering sidewalks and streets

The 9 o’clock sun
Struggled to warm

the chilled breeze

Seasons greet us
Gracefully changing
 The landscape
