Going On

A knife is stabbed through my heart
Yet the blood keeps pumping
Why do you betray me?
Why does my body not give up?
Stop
Starts
Heart
Drops
The lungs continue to breathe
In and out
There's no physical pain
I continue life mundane
But my eyes tell all
The suffering
The watching
Water from my eyes express it
I touch them in wonder
Only in private do I let them fall
And still I answer the call
All evidence gone of my weakness displayed
Strong.
I must be strong
But it is also not wrong
To let it out

Sorry you had to go through this, Caleah. I could really feel you in the last lines - strength isn't about NOT feeling, but instead about expressing that feeling despite the fear of ridicule - others will criticize either way. That, to me, is the sign of courage.

That is so true. I completely agree with you there, Timothy. Always love your insight!
