Going Home
Cold coffee
And a long ride
Down an empty
Rain filled highway
I’m going home again
So many years
So many times traveling back
I have tried
To not think of you
Your auburn hair
Now turning gray
And that smile
That the years have been kind to
Those wonderful phone conversations
That have kept us together
Have brought me here
Turning on the radio
I listen to this new music
I cannot understand
Missing the old sounds
But most of all missing you
While up ahead
The rain washes the road
And the sound of the rain
Pitter-patters, pitter-patters
Washing my mind of time
I’m going home
Again
Back to you
Back to you
