Going
When I have to go
you need to know
I didn't mean to
leave.
You might not believe
me, but I tried to hold on.
Wanted to watch the story
you wrote on my palms.
Days we counted page
numbers out of order.
Missing sentences
sequence of sequins
loosely stitched inside.
The End
of claws sunk in
to nights of just me and you.
Remember the days we built a fortress
from branches broken in the storm.
Walked endless circles
in a neighborhood we didn't belong.
All the running you did
to explore every piece of the world
at once.
Upon a time you saved me.
I don't want to go.
