God's Voice
God has His reasons for all things, and I suspect that today The Lord wanted my doctor to know that he was on His mind. So I engaged in prayer for my doctor, and after finishing, the Lord impressed upon me to write out the prayer. He then instructed me to read it to my doctor at the close of my appointment.
After requesting and being granted his permission, I read it to him. To my knowledge, nothing spectacular happened. I simply believe that I heard God and obeyed his voice. The rest is completely in God's hands. My doctor appreciated the prayer and said that it was very moving. This is the prayer that I prayed in private earlier this morning and read to my doctor in his office:
Dear Father: I thank you for Dr. ---------------, a man of renown and value. You have gifted him and placed a desire in him to be a great physician. You have made him a repairer of broken things, a restorer of things fallen down, and a healer of things wounded. I pray that you will strengthen and build him up in his faith, energize and empower his every step. May you continue to bless his marriage, children, and grand children. May you reward him for all his great deeds and sacrifices. May you remind him that nothing he does for you and for others in your name is ever in vain. As his days are, so let his strength be. And may you empower him with divine wisdom and understanding. May he feel that true sense of meaning and accomplishment. And may he continue to acknowledge you in all his ways as you direct his every step. In Jesus name. Amen.
