God's Love For the Humble

GOD'S LOVE FOR THE HUMBLE

I learned about our awesome God
And about His love for me
As my Daddy read the Bible
While I sat upon his knee

He taught me of God's creation
Of this great universe
And a lesson in humility
How the first are last, and the last are first

As I grew older, I listened
And learned oh so much more
About His Son, the Savior
Who trod on Galilee's shore

He healed the sick, raised the dead
And caused the blind to see
Then gave His life on Calvary
For sinners such as me

No greater love hath any man
Than to give up His own life
That we become joint heirs with Him
Free from grief and strife

This love of God who gave His Son
To die on Calvary's Tree
Instills in me the greater need
To show true humility

So I bow before Him each morning
To offer Him thanks and praise
And I'll live with Him eternally
When on earth I complete my days
