God's Love
I feel trapped in a web of fear,
counting my blessings tear by tear.
And when I must choose fight or flight;
God's love is my staff and my light.
Though I'm struggling to find my way,
I'm blocked by the games people play.
And yet, like a bird, in free flight,
God's love is my staff and my light.
When life's path feels bumpy and stark,
I search for shadows in the dark.
And though nothing seems to go right,
God's love is my staff and my light.
Feeling lost in a maze of hate,
my heart cries out for a soulmate.
And when hope fails to ease my plight;
God's love is my staff and my light.
Loneliness is a crushing weight,
when love's left to the whims of fate.
And when there's not a smile in sight,
God's love is my staff and my light.
When the passing years strain my back,
my bones feel they're about to crack.
Yet, I still kneel to pray each night;
God's love is my staff and my light.
