Author's Notes: This Petrarchan Sonnet entitled: "God's Christmas Angel" is a special Christmas sonnet that I wrote and set in Iambic Pentameter. This sonnet is a dedication itself to the "Spirit of Christmas" and its power of love, hope, and compassion -- so needed to help those lost in despair, hopelessness, and fear. In a similar vein, as I noted in an earlier Petrarchan sonnet, "The Tides of Passion," that I wrote and posted on July 28th of this year: "Knowing love shall transcend our mortal birth!" I noted then too, that this is a force even to be reckoned with in the ethereal world, which harkens back to the notion that "God is Love" and "God is the Universe." In this newest sonnet, "God's Christmas Angel" is my metaphorical view of a special Guardian Angel (which, by the way, I envisioned as a "Her" and not a "He") so anointed by God with the mission and purpose of bringing those lost and forlorn of all hope back into God's Light and setting them once again on a path of hope, love, redemption, and divine rebirth. In the end, these heavenly attributes are all-powerful, and are all necessary in replenishing "Mankind's Love," which is that constant in helping all of us to transcend our mortal existence here on Earth and in bringing all of us closer to God Himself. Merry Christmas to All!! (Gary Bateman - December 2, 2015) (Petrarchan Sonnet)
