Gods and Devils

To err is human, but to
a human is the realm of gods and devils.
A look at both sides these entities
are the personification of good and evil.
For a god is righteous, just and encompasses
all things of omnipotence.
A devil is wicked, malevolent and nefarious;
a fiendish sadist of damnation.

These beings are given power through
culture, beliefs or implications.
Yesterday’s god is today’s devil.
All convoluted in a debauchery of scriptures.

Neither one directly intervenes in the ways
of man.
It’s an indirect nudge toward saint
or sinner.
Although there are some that masquerade
as humans, they're mere caricatures of what
they use to be.

Always the endless wager for our souls;
an unseen conflict on our plane of existence.

I love that you believe these characters are not real people, but spirits that are entered in. Are then there people who are these characters in themselves? And we as humans pay for their deeds?

Yes, you are absolutely right. Every woman creates god but society makes devil. We need to change the systems. Thank you very much.
