Gods

He sits in the corner trying to hide
Hoping they don’t see him
Praying they don’t see him
he dares not meet their gaze
Fearful for that wrath that always follows

She sits alone crying
Tears run down her face
She could no longer see
The cause of her torment
She tries to run as the walls close in

Alone they are weak
Alone they are frail
Alone they fail
Never able to see
The power they hold

He sees her compassion
He sees her brilliance
He sees her beauty
Everything he needs
All that he is lacking

She sees his courage
She sees his determination
She sees his wit
Everything she needs
All that she is lacking

Together they rule
This bitter hell
Stronger than all
Who would see them fall
They are gods.
