God Speaks In Dreams

God speaks in dreams, though man does not perceive. In visions, as man slumbers, does He guide. He opens ears. He terrifies. With weaves, He wends a path to circumvent man's pride. And thus, man's soul is spared from pit or sword. As well, through pain and strife in bones, chastised Till life loathes bread, sweet morsels no reward, Flesh wasted, on the brink, death's end a prize. Then, He steps in, declares to man the truth, And, grace on grace, says, "I will ransom you, Restore to you your days of vigor, youth." Then does man pray to God with joy anew: "Though I have sinned, perverted what was right, You have redeemed, returned my life to light.” (from Job 33)

Exquisitely crafted sonnet, Jeff. Your theme carries through, and your rhymes are spot on. I know how difficult it is to write a really good sonnet, so I applaud you on this one!

That's true of all of us, Jeff. It's not a bad thing. Sometimes it helps to lighten up.

Thanks, Milt, I've been writing a lot of junk lately, but occasionally, I end up with a keeper :-)
