God Sent His Son

God Sent His Son

God sent His Son down from Heaven,
He had only one thing on His mind.
He would go to the cross and provide a way,
To give everlasting life to all man kind.

His journey would not be easy,
Even though John the Baptist had paved the way.
Jesus was betrayed, mocked, and beaten,
Before they nailed Him to the cross that day.

He hung on the cross between two thieves,
Left to die as a common man.
But in three days Jesus arose,
And here God made His stand.

Nearly two thousand years have passed,
God’s word is still strong and pure.
God’s word was passed down to us,
Because of what His Son had to endure.

He died for the sins of the entire world,
And He wants everyone to know.
If you believe He’s the Son of God,
To Heaven someday you will go.

Sheri, i was awaken about 2:30 in the morning and I cannot remember writing this poem, but it was in my handwriting. God used me as the instrument to write this poem It has never had a change made to it though it has been through several edits. Thanks much.
