God Of Nothing

I called your name into the night,
but only silence answered back.
No thunder rolled, no fire fell,
just echoes in the black.

They say you watch, they say you judge,
they say you keep us free.
But all I see are empty hands,
so what's a god to me?

If fate is written, i'll tear the page,
if chains are forged, I'll break them.
No heaven's grace, no hell's embrace,
no dust, and time, and mayhem.

And if you strike me, let it burn,
but know that I walked this world alone.
I carved my truth in ash and stone,
beneath a godless, dying sun.
