God Honors Your Pain

God’s tears line up with yours in solidarity
Some might think it is a gloomy day.
The rain brings you peace, for it brings unity
You feel one with this gray universe

I see but keep my thoughts to myself
Letting you bask in the rain you have earned
God’s gift to you, to revitalize and refresh
Feelings that may need to be taken out and listened to

The forecast may seem bleak to others
I know better
I know this is the day you ordered
To suit your mood

God sees your pain and honors it
He knows sunshine would be blatantly disrespectful
You are alone in your thoughts, strumming a guitar
Singing lyrics too beautiful to share

When I was a little boy, my grandmother told me, "When it is raining, God is crying." Why? I haven't the foggiest, but that's what she said. She also told me when I told "a story [a lie]" it would make my angel cry. We never forget those little lessons.
