God Called Nathan Home

On January 5th 1992,
  God whispered in Nathan’s ear.
Oh, it seems like yesterday,
  But it’s been seventeen years.

God came into the hospital,
And clutched him to Thy chest.
To accompany his little soul,
  Onto his heavenly quest.

Before he parted earth,
  And left for the above.
He felt his father’s warmth,
  And heard his mother’s love.

And after all this sadness,
A place in heaven is our reward.
For Nathan is safe and sound,
Up with the Lord of Lords.

Though he left you as an infant,
Up in heaven he has grown.
For today’s the anniversary,
  That God called Nathan home.

Hey, Raul. You have been commenting on my husband's songs. Cody Young is his name. I was looking through some of your poetry and I really am enjoying reading it. Thank you for posting. Just one question. Who is Nathan. The poem reminds me of the losses that I have had with my children. God took both of my little ones before I could hold them, but I know where they are now, and all I can do is strive to see them in heaven some day. God bless you and keep up the good writings.
