Good Morning. Your poem asks a very responsible question. We need to be more Christ-like. I enjoyed your words and what they mean to me and my responses. A very blessed poem! - Daniel

Compassion is universal, a higher octave of love, detached and yet intimate. Once aroused, we accept all as they are, for knowing no better, they can do no better and so we continue outpouring love irrespective of what people say or do. This said, we need to protect ourselves too.

I like your question poem and it's focus on choosing a response, and observing compassion in the remit of love. I also like the /ns/ sounds of the end-of-line words - seeming to remind of the word 'response' and pull away from 'callous'.
